OUT 840--ILLI MO(A&E)BITZ

HEY OUTTOWNERS!!!

ITS TIME TO

GET TOWNED!!!

Before we get into the ILLI MO A&E BITZ in the arts and ent world, don’t forget that TIME GOES BACK AN HOUR THIS SAT/SUN November 7 at 2AM, which means clubs get an extra hour to make money off clubbers and clubbers got one extra hour to party! And for the sleepers, you got an extra Z in your ZZZZZZZZZZZs. LOL

THE BIG A&E STORY WAS in the political arena as

President Barack Obama addressed the nation at the White House Wednesday a day after the Mid Term elections that was televised at noon CST at the various news outlets as well as on social networking sites.

OBAMA addressed the after the NATION The White House announced on Tuesday that President Obama would hold a press conference today at 1:00 pm Eastern President Obama,

He reflected on the Democrats' historic losses in Congress in the midterm election and appealed for both parties to find "common ground" while continuing to stand by his administration's policies.

The hour long event focused on Obama describing his decisions to date as "tough" but "right." But as he faces down a new landscape in Congress starting in January, the president said he must take "direct responsibility" for the frustration over the economy that led to those changes and pledged to do more to reach "consensus" with Republicans.

"No party has a monopoly on wisdom," the president said. "I want to engage both Democrats and Republicans. ... I do believe there is hope for civility. I do believe there's hope for progress."

Obama suggested he'd be open to joining Republicans in calling for a moratorium on earmarks and taking a second look at a controversial provision in the health care law that requires businesses to file 1099 tax forms for large purchases.

Obama on Wednesday directly attributed GOP gains to frustration over the economy,

"Some election nights are more fun than others. Some are exhilarating. Some are humbling," Obama said. "Yesterday's vote confirmed what I've heard from folks all across America. People are frustrated, they're deeply frustrated with the pace of our economic recovery."

Obama said that he and the Dems got a "shellacking" on Election Day.

On Election Day, The Republicans, had picked up 60 seats in the 435-seat House of Representatives by early Wednesday, more than the 39 they needed for a majority. They also grabbed an extra six seats in the 100-member Senate, with three outstanding races yet to be decided as of this blogging.

This was a tough pill for the President to swallow. It is apparent his advisers dropped the ball in regards to what he needed to do to rally folk to vote for his Party. Many African American leaders and opinion makers including Roland Martin and Rev,. Al Sharpton felt Obama waited to late to muster the much needed African American vote by going on black centred programs such as the Tom Joyner Morning Show a month before the Elections to influence.

On a bigger scale, Obama hoped that Republicans would support his policies , mainly the economy, but the rogue based Tea Party Movement had one agenda—destroy all of Obama’s successes and harp ON his natural born citizenship and religion. Obama is a smart man who is trying to revolutionize the country and pushing her into 21 st century attitudes and vision. But it is apparent that most people in the country do not want to play catch up. Let’s hope Obama gets the support he needs by the newly controlled GOP party and that the party does what they say they are going to do to help get the county out of the doldrums of economic depression.

But we are sure behind closed doors, Obama probably said , “Damn!” Then lit up a few Newports. LOL

Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey’s new cable network OWN It announced this week that several Hollywood and music personalities will receive shows on Oprah Winfrey’s new OWN network debuting Jan 1, 20111. They are country duo Naomi and Wynonna Judd, father/daughter Ryan and Tatum O'Neal and fashion stylist Carson Kressley . "The Judds" will follow the mother and daughter singers as they prepare to tour together, OWN says. Kennet, Mo native and Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow and Belleville, Ill. Native Jeff Tweedy of the band Wilco(PICTURED) performed at the "Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear," hosted by Emmy ward winning talk show hosts Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert last Saturday at the National Mall in Washington D.C. They performed along with Chitown native and Grammy nominated veteran singer Mavis Staples (PICTURED)and The Roots band.

St. Louis native and Emmy nominated actor John Hamm hosted Saturday Night Live last Saturday and brought in good reviews. Hamm, who was hosting for the third time and the second Halloween edition, brought out the best from the mostly mediocre sketches. He began with a Mad Men sketch for the opening segment with cast members in the crowd coming up with “spontaneous” ad campaigns in the manner of Don Draper (and he left the Mad Men character just to the opening segment). The highlight was Hamm and Jason Sudeikis CHiPs-like parody, “Highway Cops,” stepping up the hidden homoerotic subtext when he kissed Sudeikis causing the studio audience to cheer.

Overall critics were mixed on his overall performance but most said that Hamm is more than just a handsome star willing to make fun of himself — he’s got real comic timing, and a knack for knowing how broadly to play a sketch. Folk also are saying he’s getting into Alec Baldwin territory, hosting on a regular and being shameless in the action taken for the sake of the sketch.

Chitown based rap superstar Kanye West is back in the newz, nit for his music, but for a comment he made in 2005 about President George W Bush. The former President did a sit down taped interview with Matt Lauer on the TODAY show that aired Wednesday and Bush mentioned that West's infamous off-the-cuff comment "President Bush does not like Black people" during the Shelter from the Storm Telethon that raised money for Hurricane Katrina victims was the lowest point in his Presidency.

Here's the exchange, from an early transcript the network released, as quoted by Ken Tucker of Entertainment Weekly:

“He called me a racist,” Bush tells Lauer. “And I didn’t appreciate it then. I don’t appreciate it now. It’s one thing to say, ‘I don’t appreciate the way he’s handled his business.’ It’s another thing to say, ‘This man’s a racist.’ I resent it, it’s not true.”

Lauer quotes from Bush’s new book: “Five years later I can barely write those words without feeling disgust.” Lauer adds, “You go on: ‘I faced a lot of criticism as president. I didn’t like hearing people claim that I lied about Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction or cut taxes to benefit the rich. But the suggestion that I was racist because of the response to Katrina represented an all-time low.’

President Bush responds: “Yeah. I still feel that way as you read those words. I felt ‘em when I heard ‘em, felt ‘em when I wrote ‘em, and I felt ‘em when I’m listening to ‘em.

Lauer: “You say you told Laura at the time it was the worst moment of your presidency?”

Bush: “Yes. My record was strong, I felt, when it came to race relations and giving people a chance. And it was a disgusting moment.”

Lauer: “I wonder if some people are going to read that, now that you’ve written it, and they might give you some heat for that. And the reason is this — “

Bush [interrupting]: “Don’t care.”

Lauer: “Well, here’s the reason. You’re not saying that the worst moment in your presidency was watching the misery in Louisiana. You’re saying it was when someone insulted you because of that.”

Bush: “No, and I also make it clear that the misery in Louisiana affected me deeply as well. There’s a lot of tough moments in the book. And it was a disgusting moment, pure and simple.”

In related newz, Ye responded to Bush's response via Twitter saying that he understands how Bush feels because he got coined a racist during the Taylor Swift mic bruhaha when he uplifted Beyonce's video "Single Ladies" over Swift's that won Best Female Video.

OK. What is Bush talking about? Ye's attack on him was his lowpoint? I think it should have been when America called him out for not hurrying to the rescue of the victims of Hurricane Treatment. And can we say 9-11? That should have been the low point when America was attacked by terrorists and how it changed the country. But its Ye who soiled his Presdiency? Give me a freakin break. And Ye I dontthink should have to self depreciate himself just cuz Bush tried using the Kanye comment as a scapegoat for his irresponsibilties to the country. Plus,we don't think the Kanye-Swift incident played out as him being a racist but more of a stage fail that almost railroaded his career.

Kanye West joined Hot 97's Funkmaster Flex in the studio for nearly five hours Tuesday evening, playing tracks from his forthcoming My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album and taking part in a far-reaching and highly entertaining interview.

During the conversation, Flex said that Kanye and Swift are "forever joined at the hip." "I made a mistake," Kanye said. "My timing was definitely, extremely off and the bigger plan, the bigger fight ... how do you go about it? If I hadn't said anything, everything would have just went smoothly."

Kanye also apparently confirmed that the nude pictures of him that recently hit the Internet are real: "Have you heard the first line of Runaway?" he asked. (The line: "She find pictures in my email/ I sent this girl a picture of my, hey!") "I only rap reality! You can't imagine how disappointed I was that I got cut off!"

He also said that the ostracism of the phoenix in his Runaway mini-movie was partially inspired by the reactions to his relationship with the flamboyant model Amber Rose. "Yeah, it's definitely some of that.

But also, in the movie, it's pieces of any woman I've been extremely close to. [There are even] representations of my mom in that movie, too. It's representations of my [ex-]fiancee, just the taste level. But the discrimination level of it, it's very Amber."

In other Ye newz, he will perform in the 84th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. It will depart from Macy's flagship store on 34th Street, in New York City on Nov. 25. Also performing include Jessica Simpson, Gladys Knight and Arlo Guthrie. Also, look out for new balloons like Kung-Fu Panda, the Kool Aid Man, and Japanese artist Takashi Murakami's cartoon characters Kiki and Kaikai.

And in Ye chart newz, his single, "Monster" looks like its becoming the breakthrough single from his upcoming CD, "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy." It moves up 61 spots from its debut spot No. 79 to No. 18 on Billboard Hot 100 this week to land his second Top 20 single from the CD ( the first was "Runaway" which peaked at No. 12). The song features Jay Z, Rick Ross and Nick Minaj. On the R&B/Hip Hop singles chart, it holds at No. 30 for a second week in its ninth week.
Speaking of "Runway" the song only moves up three spots on the Hot 100 from No. 54 to No. 51 in its 4th week on the chart(its accompanying film apparently is not helping move the song up this chart). But it seems to be doing better on the Hot Rap Track chart as it moves up six spots from No. 17 to No. 11 in its 3rd week on that chart.

IN ILLIMO reality:

THE BIG STL STORY was the retirement events for NFL player Isaac Bruce last weekend. The culminating event was Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis before the Rams’ game against the Panthers. His Rams jersey No. 80 was retired at the Dome. Those who spoke and attended his ceremony were former Rams head coach Mike Martz, Dick Vermeil, head coach of the Super Bowl XX XIV Super Bowl champs.

About two dozen former Rams were on hand as well and were introduced in a group that included Torry Holt, Az Hakim, Tre Bly, Aeneas Williams, Orlando Pace, Ricky Proehl, Keith Lyle, Ernie Conwell, Tom Nutten, Ray Agnew and the Donut Bros. — Andy McCollum and Adam Timmerman. Bruce played 14 seasons with the Rams — 13 of those campaigns coming in St. Louis after the team moved to the Midwest in 1995.

Bruce’s speech was reportedly brief and gracious. He reportedly thanked Proehl for the game-winning TD catch in the 1999 season's NFC championship game against Tampa Bay, Marshall Faulk for "taking over against Philadelphia" in the second half of the 2001 season's NFC title game. And lastly, he thanked the fans of St. Louis, telling them: "I love you."

During the Rams' game with Carolina, there were reportedly video tributes to Bruce from former teammates, many of whom could not be in attendance Sunday, including Faulk, Kurt Warner and Trent Green. After most of the tributes, in-stadium cameras reportedly flashed back to Bruce for his reaction, one being of him pointing to the Super Bowl championship ring he was wearing, flashing his trademark smile.

On Saturday, he spoke at Rams Park and Friday, there was a RSVP swank party for Bruce at Lumiere Place Theatre

In related newz, The Rams won over Carolina Panthers 20-10 Sunday at Edward Jones Dome giving them a record of 4-4 as they approach the half way point in the season with 8 games left (Season ends Jan 2) They have a BYE WEEK this Sunday. They will resume their schedule Nov 14 with an away game with the 49ners.

In unrelated Rams newz, on Wednesday the organization passed on signing former Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss to the organization. Moss, who was part of the waiver claim poll, was optioned by The Tennessee Titans paying his nearly $4 million for the rest of this season. His longtime former team, The Vikings decided to end Moss' brief second tenure in Minnesota weeks after acquiring him from the New England Patriots, according to his agent and teammates.

For those who are clueless to this deal, on a waive claim order, a team claiming a waived player (in this case the Vikings to Moss) claims his contract. If a waived player is not claimed, he is a free agent. The Rams was 13th on the waive claim list based on their current record. Other teams on the NFL's waiver-claim order had some interest in Moss including San Francisco, Denver, Detroit, Jacksonville and perhaps San Diego.

Grammy Award winning St. Louis based rap mogul Nelly is set to launch his own international radio show. He got the radio bug after he hit radio airwaves in August when he filled in for Hot 104.1 host Staci Static, while she was on maternity leave. Due to the popularity of that brief stint and his stint on he signed a deal with Global Radio's Choice in London to host a weekly Saturday afternoon show beginning Nov 6. and will host during the early afternoon time slot every Saturday at 3:00PM. The show will be reloaded every Tuesday evening from 7pm.

According to a statement issued by Global Radio's Choice, Nelly's show will play the "biggest and best urban music" in addition to a selection of tracks from his upcoming album 5.0.

"We're thrilled to welcome Nelly to the station," Program Director of Choice, Robert D'Ovidio said. "This is the latest in a series of exclusive takeovers on Choice as we continue to provide our audience with innovative and fresh programming alongside the urban songs they love.”

The site to hear his show is http://www.choice-fm.co.uk/

So Radio One couldn’t scoop him up and had to go overseas to land a radio gig? Hmm, interesting, We wonder if Hot 104.1. and Radio One are kicking themselves for not signing him. If he got that good of ratings, we would think Radio ONe would jump on that (especially now that Hot 104.1. recently fired Young Dip) We wonder what Staci Static must feel after hearing newz that Nelly got his own radio gig due to the ratings he generated during her hiatus.

In unrelated newz, first it was Kanye now MediaTakeout posted a nude pic taken of the Nellster last week. He Tweeted a picture of himself naked Oct 30 with a birthday cake. He posted it with this message: “Happy bday to me!happy bday to me!”"MY FIRST BDAY CAKE”" IN “”MY BDAY SUIT”"In the pic Nelly is nude but he covered his pubic area with a cake In an open box and smiling. What’s more interesting was he was in an unkempt room with clothes scattered everywhere. More importantly, who took the nude pic ?

In more unrelated Nelly newz, it’s reports that Nelly and his on-off-on GF Ashanti are back together. Although they broke up last year, rumors are now going around that rapper Nelly and singer Ashanti have reconciled and together once again. The two artists were spotted together early last week in New York City at a private listening session for Nelly's upcoming "5.0" album. From a source, Ashanti sat by his side and seemed to be enjoying each other. Hmm, what yawl think? I think they have more of a friend type relationship—with benefits.

Also, Nelly celebrated his 36th b-day Tuesday.

In Nelly chart newz, his comeback single, "Just A Dream" falls another spot from No. 4 to No. 5 on Billboard's Hot 100 in its 11th week on the chart. But interestingly, the song recaptured its bullet (it lost it last week when the song fell one spot from its peak position of No.3 to No. 4)
So could the song take a rise back up the chart and maybe reaching its peak again or higher? We doubt it from his current comp from Kesha, the G 6 song, Bruno Mars and Rihanna ahead of him holding the Top 4 spots on the chart respectively but it would be will see.

As far as his third single, "Move Your Body" featuring T Pain and STL native singer Akon still has yet to make a return on the Billboard Hot 100 after vanishing form that chart 2 weeks ago after it debuted at No. 54.

There are now allegations challenging that Chicago native hip-hop dancer Sidney Starr’s claim that she is a tranny is a hoax and that she was actually born a woman, According to Media Takeout, who posted her baby pics , Starr—who claim to have had a relationship with StL rapper Chingy for two years, took to Twitter to deny the allegation.

“ Ive always been very feminine even as a baby” she tweeted.

Well, that’s interesting that there is now an allegation of the allegation which makes it true, right? Like two wrongs make a right or two negatives make a positive. LOL. We think Starr was a boy. There are many boys who take up feminine features when they are young and that their mothers dress them like girls cuz its cute.

Chicago native, Grammy Award winning singer/producer R Kelly released the black and white video for his current single, When a Woman Loves last week .

In unrelated R newz, iKelly may have moved on from his former Lake View mansion, but since he left the place has been revamped and even more suited for celebrity living. The property at 1010 W. George St. was originally built as a church in 1885, and later turned into an entertainment Mecca for a celebrity. The R&B singer sold the home for $1 million last month. The current owner did some extensive renovations after purchasing the mansion and put the property on the market in June with a listing price for $3.89 million. The home includes a 1,600 gallon salt water aquarium, an indoor swimming pool, sauna, spa room and elevator access to the rooftop with a full kitchen.

If this isn't enough, the current owner is throwing in a month of cleaning service, a masseuse and personal chef, according to Chicago Curbed
+++++++++++

Oh we almost forgot, regarding The R's 50s throwback single, "When A Woman Loves' it has fallen one spot from No. 22 where it peaked to No. 23 on Billboard's R&B/Hip Hop charts. Its in its 10th week on that chart.

Some of Chicago's biggest names in hip-hop and R&B are coming together to support a good cause. They are Grammy winning rapper Common, Grammy nominated rapper Lupe, Grammy/Oscar winning singer/actress Jennifer Hudson and producer No I.D. have united for the new soulful track 'We Can Do It Now,' to support Season 3 of 'Gatorade Replay.'

The No I.D.-produced song features an electric guitar, tambourine and clap beat behind Hudson's powerful vocals, before Lupe and Common step in. Fitting with the show's premise, the 'We Can Do It Now,' is set around the basis of team work and getting second chances.
The third season of 'Gatorade Replay,' which is documented through the Emmy-nominated 'Replay' series on the FSN channel, brings together two rival basketball teams -- Bloom Township High School and Brother Rice High School -- from Chicago's South Side. The teams reunite to settle a decade long score at a state playoff game.

Two STL area businesses have put the CLOSED sign to their spots permanently.

First, The Admiral is up for sale. The century-old riverboat that's been a fixture along St. Louis' Mississippi River banks couldn't survive as an aging casino in the region's fast-growing gambling market. Now the vessel's sellers are wagering they can find someone willing to give the behemoth a go as something else. The S.S. Admiral - home until July to The President Casino - is on the market on eBay and several other online auction sites as a 365-foot-long, 95-foot-wide vessel. Virgil Straeter, whose southwestern Illinois auction company is overseeing the potential sale, says the $1.5 million price listed on eBay was only a "suggestion." He identified the current owner only as a private marine company in the region.Las Vegas-based Pinnacle Entertainment closed the last summer, vacating and later selling the Admiral.

AND LASTLY.....we lost two important STL personalities who contributed greatly to the arts and entertainment field on a local and national level.

We lost STL native filmmaker George Hickenlooper, (RIGHT)the man behind such films as the Apocalypse Now behind-the-scenes documentary Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse, Factory Girl and, most recently, Casino Jack starring Kevin Spacey as hated lobbyist Jack Abramoff. However, whilst in Denver, Colorado visiting his cousin, mayor John Hickenlooper, and attending yet another film festival, The New York Times reports that the filmmaker was found dead over the weekend. At 47 years-old, Hickenlooper has apparently died of natural causes and no foul play. Hickenlooper died in his sleep of a heart attack on October 29, 2010.[3][4] He is survived by his wife Suzanne, son Charles, a younger brother, and his mother and father.[3]

AND

On the same day that Hickenlooper passed, Earl Wilson Jr. (FAR RIGHT) died. He was president and CEO of the St. Louis Gateway Classic Sports Foundation. He died at his home in Richmond Heights. He was 78. He was diagnosed 10 months ago with pancreatic cancer, his family said. The foundation that he built hosts an annual football game between two black college teams at the Edward Jones Dome. Since 1993, the foundation has given $2.8 million to send 120 students to college. He was 78. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Nov. 6 at St. Nicholas Church, 701 North 18th Street, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m.

The repast will be held at the Gateway Classic, 2012 Dr. Martin Luther King Dr., following the mass. The family will bury their beloved privately at Calvary Cemetery and then join the other mourners at the repast.

His wife, Billie H. Wilson, daughter Denise Wilson and daughter Theresa Anderson were with Wilson when he passed.

Other survivors include his daughters Stacey Wilson McMahon and Kimberly Wilson; his sons Richard Gray, Steven M. Anderson, Michael Anderson, David Anderson and Bill Anderson; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

WORDZ TO THE WHYZ?????????????

Why did Obama say they he got a shellacking in the elections? Why did the Dems lose so badly? Why does Saturday Night Live seem to have cast member Kristen Wiig in most of their sketches? Why did the new coach of the Eagles say QB Donovan McNabb wasn’t equipped to finish the final play and took him out in its last game? Why did President George W say that Kanye calling him a racist was his lowpoint in his Presidency? Why didn’t The Rams get Randy Moss to be on the squad? Why do people think Rick Fox got booted off Dancing with the Stars because his white GF straddled her legs around him on air? Why did comedian Paul Mooney say on Tom Joyner Morning HSow that Oprah and Tyler Perry need to be put to sleep? Why didn’t the World Series between the Rangers and Giants garner any big ratings? Why is there gonna be a Skating with the Stars? And why is the show;s biggest star is Motley Crue’s Vince Neil ? Why did a woman in her car scream from the top of her lungs to another woman in her car "I SEE YOU" when the first woman honked her horn while she was backing back from the parking lot of Walgreens in Clayton and the other woman in the car was backing back toward the other car? Why was President Clinton eager for rapper Lil Wayne to get out of prison and get to doing music? And why do we have Spring Forward-Fall Back and hour in the first place?
