We continue our celebration of Black Music Month celebrating St. Louis artist who are making waves in music the local area,

This week we highlight Wendell B

Wendell B is a singer/producer who started off singing gospel at the age of 5 joining the gospel group Sensational Wonders. Throughout the 1980s onward he has traveled singing in St Louis and toured nationally and international. In 2004, he was one of the founders of his own record label Cuzzo that had various artists on it including the harmony group, LLC. Now he is the CEO and President of his second label Smoothway Music. Some of the albums he;s released include Love Life and Relationships, Good Times” and his current CD, “Back Ta Da Bizness.”

To peep out his talent go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3sCxiLIBx6Y

THE BIG A&E STORY THIS WEEK IS

Chicago reared Hip-hop artist Kanye West is accustomed to controversy, but his latest video may be the monster of it all.

The complete video for West's "Monster" from the disc "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" has hit his website after portions were leaked in December. It also features Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj and Rick Ross, though these music industry heavyweights are not what is generating buzz.

It's all those dead bodies lying and literally hanging around.

This perhaps should be expected when the video starts off with a disclaimer. "The following content is in no way to be interpreted as misogynistic or negative towards any groups of people. It is an art piece and it shall be taken as such."

The song then goes into lines like "are you willing to sacrifice your life?" and "I'm a monster no good blood sucker" as a dead model hangs on a noose.

There is also dismembered female heads, including one toted about by West. Two of the dead models can be seen in West's bed as he positions them for what could be an implied threesome.

Not to be left out, Ross holds a chainsaw with a dead body behind him. An evil Minaj dresses in S&M gear while torturing a good version of herself. A couple of zombies feast on the insides of a blood-spattered corpse.

This could very well be a homage to horror movies like "Night of the Living Dead" with the scenes of gore traveling along at the speed of rap.

The video has critics talking. The Huffington Post called it "an epic production" while BlackBook magazine said it is "a really fabulous-looking video, in all its gothic glory."

Hmm, anytime you put a disclaimer at the beginning of anything, it is going to have the exact effect that you dont want to happen. But with Ye, he is a walking disclaimer. LOL

In other Ye newz, he is developing a line of clothing for men and women, a source has informed the Telegraph. It looks like Ye has set up a studio in Paris where he is hard at work on designs at the moment.

The source added that the line may be ready to hit runways as early as September.

Closing arguments started Wednesday in the federal corruption trial of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich after his lawyers wrapped up his defense and are expected to make their closing arguments today,. Thursday. On the stand, Blagojevich repeatedly denied abusing his official powers by demanding fundraising in a pay-to-play scheme for state action, the Chicago Times reported. Blagojevich faces a trial on 20 federal charges, including allegations he tried to peddle Obama's Senate seat for campaign cash or a high-level job. A jury last summer convicted Blagojevich on one count of lying to the FBI and deadlocked on 23 others.

So do you think he will be guilty on all counts?

Talk show mogul OPRAH Winfrey is being sought for a guest starring role on Parks and Recreation. The media mogul — who quit her long running chatshow after 25 years last month — is the first choice for actor Nick Offerman (PICTURED)to play his onscreen character Ron Swanson’s former wife Tammy in the TV show because he thinks she is the only person “intimidating enough” to take on Ron’s second wife, also called Tammy and played by Megan Mullally.

“We’re going to find out who Ron’s first ex-wife Tammy is, and I’m excited to find out why Tammy Two is scared s**tless of Tammy,” he said.

“We’re trying to start a campaign to get Oprah to play Tammy One. I think Oprah would be the only, she’s the only person we can think of that might be intimidating to Megan Mullally. It would be so good.”

“There’s all kinds of ideas being thrown around. I can assure you if it’s not Oprah, I will quit,” he joked.

We said, 'Let's do a mutual song, by, you know, a neutral band -- a band that we both love,' and we both love Zeppelin." The two artists haven't chosen the song yet, but it'll appear on an upcoming album of duets that Chaka plans to release.

Why did Patti Labelle direct her bodyguards to beat up a scrawny boy to a bloody pulp who she thought was about to mess with her luggage while waiting by the curb to get into her limo? Why was Ludacris a guest performer on the CMT Awards? Why is teh media focusing so much on NYC Represnetative Anthony Weiner? Why did Rib Desir leave Fox 2 news? Why did Kanye West say that rapper Big Sean is what Beyonce is to R&B? And why is Beyince;s record company relaseing her new CD two weeks early? Why did actress Reese Witherspoon dog women who make it on reality shows during her Legacy Award at the MTV Movie Awards? And Why is University City Loop becoming thug nation these days?

An Evening of One Acts,” four short plays directed by three Florissant Valley faculty members, takes the stage at St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley’s Terry M. Fischer Theatre June 9, 10*, 11 at 8 p.m. and at 2 p.m. June 12. The campus is located at 3400 Pershall Road in Ferguson.

The featured plays are as follows:

"Arizona Anniversaries" by John Bishop is directed by Chris Stephens. Loneliness and death sure do have a knack for bringing people together. Thirty-something David tells the story of the birthday he spent in Arizona with his mother and a woman he met at the mall, of all places. This play is produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

4 a.m. (Open all Night)” by Bob Krakower is directed by Chris Stephens. In a diner, a waiter and a salty regular customer try to encourage a pair of early-morning diner patrons who are clearly destined to meet and fall in love. This play is produced by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc.

“For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls” by Christopher Durang is directed by Daniel Betzler. In this parody of The Glass Menagerie, the fading Southern belle, Amanda, tries to prepare her hyper-sensitive, hypochondriac son, Lawrence, for "the feminine caller." Terrified of people, Lawrence plays with his collection of glass cocktail stirrers. Ginny, the feminine caller, is hard of hearing and overbearingly friendly. Brother Tom wants to go the movies, where he keeps meeting sailors who need to be put up in his room. Amanda tries to face everything with "charm and vivacity," but sometimes she just wants to hit somebody. This play is produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc.

“Fathers and Other Strangers” by Jeff Stetson is directed by Renee Thomas Woods. This play is a compelling story about the sensitive and complex relationship between fathers and their children and captures the frustration that festers at the very soul of fathers and their sons when issues go unresolved. It also demonstrates how racism, violence and lack of communication threaten the bond between fathers and sons or strangers who become father-like figures. These issues are examined from the standpoint of psychiatry. These dates mark the St. Louis premiere of “Fathers and Other Strangers.” This play is produced by special arrangement with Jeff Stetson.

Admission is free and all performances are open to the public. For more information, call 314-513-4488. Special accommodations are available for persons with disabilities by calling 314-513-4477. Children 10 years of age and older, are welcome to this production.

He proudly served his country in WWII at Iwo Jima and after exiting the service trained as a classical opera singer. But his only shortcoming in life was separating from his wife, Gwen, when she refused to chase his dream of becoming a famous singer. With their only son R.C. in town to celebrate the anniversary of his father’s enlistment, this day brings a wave of memories back to Robert, along with a few unexpected turns in this World Premiere theatre event. For tickets go to http://www.theblackrep.org/
