I am afraid that it is not bug free yet, and with all the in-house designed features that it is offering, they simple aren't great enough to offset the way the members act.

This is a term I am unfamiliar with.

My toaster is asking for an extension cord.
Don't give it any more power. It's liable to burn you to a crisp after it upgrades itself (http://www.uberreview.com/2005/09/netbsd-controlled-toaster.htm).

Darn ... I never took my empties back to the Beer Store.
You reminded me of the joke where two guys walking down the street see a mugger approaching. One guy quickly hands the other guy a $20 bill and says "Here's the beer money I owe you".

I guess I should pay my library fines before the library is destroyed tomorrow.

In other news, Skynet stock is up in intense trading today.

Ok, so lets say I go with 3rd party memory. If I have an unrelated problem with the MBP, would I need to put the original memory back in before taking it in for service?

I'm new to the whole Mac thing. Thanks.
First, it's ALL 3rd party RAM, since Apple doesn't make RAM. They put other manufacturer's RAM in their computers. Second, upgrading the RAM or hard drive yourself is not a violation of warranty, so there's no need to put the original RAM back before service. Hang onto the original RAM, in case you have a problem with the RAM you buy.
... Apple cannot give me crap for using third party ram.
    They wouldn't, anyway. See above.

Apple Warranty: Installing Memory, Expansion Cards, User Installable Parts Does Not Void Warranty (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=13946)

From 2011 MacBook Pro User Guide (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/MacBook_Pro_15inch_Early2011.pdf):
Your MacBook Pro does not have any user-serviceable parts, except the hard drive and the memory.

I have been using screen in the osx terminal to get serial access, using the following:

    screen telnet /dev/tty.usbserial

Unfortunately I can't scrollback in screen, which makes copying long config files a process of :apple:-C, :apple:-V, and repeat. Any suggestions for native serial support in the osx terminal app WITH scrollback?

I do not understand why you are using screen to launch telnet instead of invoking it directly, but try using logging in screen (-L if memory serves right)

Personally I would use tee to make a copy of the output in a file and extract your config files from this file.

Also IIRC Cisco's iOS lets you save and load config files directly. I do not remember the exact syntax but try built-in help...

    Hope this helps,
    Trebor.

If you have no experience in this type of work, I would suggest using a service like Jotform. Easy, web-based form builder. They host the database. You can embed the from anywhere.

When they made the switch into a for-profit money making business, I said this was a possibility... that they may go overboard in the revenue boosting side, at the expense of the clients.

It's a path that many businesses take, unless they follow the customer first model instead. Which doesn't make the investors as happy, but it does help keep a happy client base growing.

The ads are everywhere because they're trying to squeeze every penny out they can.

And it CAN get worse, think along the bank and cable company models.

There's a lot of money that they haven't even started going after yet -- a $1-10 a month here, there, and everywhere.

I like to own my downloaded stuff like I would own a CD/DVD.

You own the physical CD/DVD/Blu-Ray, but you only license the content, whether from physical or now, digital media.

I really do hope this means more money going to the musicians and not the labels.

Didn't see this posted yet, I would hate to be on the Comair plane as it gets whipped around. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the collision of an Airbus A-380 and a smaller plane at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Air France Flight 7, bound for Paris, was taxiing on a runway Monday night when its left wingtip struck the tail of Comair Flight 6293, which had just landed from Boston and was taxiing to its gate at Kennedy, one of the nation's busiest airports.

    There were no injuries.

Both planes were being inspected Tuesday. Pilots and crew will also be interviewed.

Passenger Lawrence Grotts was on board the Air France plane.

"It really felt just like a speedbump or like hitting a pothole -- a jolt -- but it didn't feel right ... like that shouldn't be happening," he said.

The NTSB said it has requested the flight recorders and will review air traffic control tapes and what is known as ground radar data.

The double-deck Airbus A-380 had 495 passengers and 25 crew members on board, Air France said in a statement. The Comair CRJ 700 Regional Jet had 62 passengers and four crew members.

"This incident only caused material damage to the two aircraft," Air France said. The airline said it is assisting the NTSB.

Maxine Lubner, chair of the aviation department at Vaughn College, said communication could have been a problem.

"When the plane, the A-380, was on the taxiway, Alpha, it's under FAA control," she said. "The regional jet may have already been switched to the company's frequency."

Lubner said the Air France pilots should have been able to see the smaller aircraft.

    Thanks for the link.

Now I am confused. You say that SGP first made the oleo protectors with two cuts and then one cut.

Does the current oleos have single or double cut?

I don't know. I haven't purchased the oleos since they first came out. Someone else who has purchased more recently will have to answer that.

It was reported this morning that it's going to take 2 months for the 12 day west coast dock backlog to get caught up so everything we've been expecting soon may not show up much before MacWorld San Francisco 2003. It just depends where those drives are in the cue.

Even if they haven't been shipped from Japan yet, it's going to take longer for them to arrive because of this huge cue that has built up over these past 12 days. That includes things like the Pioneer DVR-A05 Quad Speed SuperDrive, the Yamaha External FireWire version of the CRW-F1, and the new PowerBooks that Apple has had to delay announcing because they're sitting on a ship that hasn't been able to be unloaded. So I think we're going to have to be extra patient about getting what we know is next.

Let's all remember that this was NOT a STRIKE by the workers but a LOCKOUT by management. Management did not negotiate in good faith and was willing to wait for the President to step in while Bananas and other perishable food rotted on those unserviced ships.

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking for. I'm assuming that you have your own webhosting, your own domain, etc. and you want blogger to ftp out an index.html file?

If so, you just set up your blog with the option to "host on your own server." Then, after it's created, you hit it "Settings" tab in your blog panel. And then in that, you hit that "Publishing" tab. Put in your ftp server, path, and the filename you want it to publish to. Then, if you'd like for it to ftp each post without prompting you for your username and password each time, you can enter your ftp username and password under the query for blog filename and such.
