Thanks for your reply. Since I won't be working for Company A, so I have to tell them the situation. If Company A is willing to keep my H1B with them active, until Company B gets my H1B approved, you think that will be OK for me?

I dont think the H1B from company A and company B are related. Since you are on OPT which is a valid status, you may not need the H1B from company A. Moreover there is nothing called transfer. Every time its new H1B only you wont be calculated against the cap if you are already in H1B.
Also you dont need to join the company A and technically they can have the H1 valid and need not cancel it. Means you can have multiple H1 valid at the same time. But there are restrictions how many pay roll can run.
Simply, just leave the company A's H1 intact. Once your Company B is approved you can tell them or work for one month and leave company A.

even if the I 140 address goes to an old address of the compnay why would it go back to USCIS. would it require a signature for it to be delivered ??

This is where our problem lies. People once they are greened completely forget the troubles and "never ever" look back. Many of us (either directly or as dependents) have been greened and have reached very high positions but never feel the need to help out. I am wondering whether it is because we have failed to ask their help??
Instead on focussing on senators and congressmen/women (which IV members are already doing) would it be worthwile to prepare a list of influential (political, business, scientists) immigrants (particularly chinese and Indians) and then getting their help/input to our cause??

Thanks, You are right I havent applied for my I485 yet. I am only concerened about when I return back to US, will there is any issues at POE due to my long absence on H1B?

You can't maintain H-1B status while physically residing in India. But, you can still have your GC process running.
An absence won't be of any consequence as long as the visa is valid and you are employed by the same employer.

Thank you very much. :) I'm not much cop at the fantastic Photoshop stuff - a lot of these guys seem to be able to do them blindfold (Eilsoe, Edwin, I'm talking about you here :) ). I tend to stick more to line art. I did write a tutorial on how to do it for kirupa.com. It's buried under Flash MX - Special Effects - Line Art or something similar. It's cheating really, as I draw by hand first, scan in then trace in Flash. But sometimes you can get really nice effects.
I'm about to try playing around with Fireworks now for those animations. Stupid of me really, I've got it here on my PC, but I never thought of using it. Duh... Fingers crossed it'll work out. As far as I can tell, it's Imageready that's bumping up the file size...

First thing you can do is to get good education equivalent certificate from reputed company(like Trustforte). If your labor has stated that combination of degree is accepted then make sure that you write same wording in your edu equivalent certificate. Try to understand this that going to Appeal/AAO office is taking forever to response back (AS OF NOW THERE IS 26 MONTHS OF DELAY TO PROCESS I-140 THOUGH APPEAL PROCESS). How do I know about 26 months cause I got a letter from USCIS Washington DC office(through my Senetor) when I request Senetor's help in getting my I-140 approve from AAO office. So make sure that you prepare your document correctly before sending it to AAO/USCIS office. Foremost thing if your document has gone to AAO office then keep patience. After reading so many decisions from AAO office on I-140 appeal I understood that they will look into your case on de nuvo basis. Meaning AAO office will look at your all document that you sent from start to end to make sure that your appealed decision can be taken correctly. If you have enough time with you then I will recommend you to go through this AAO decisions. Then in a month time immediatly I got my I140 denied, So after that my attorney appealed with I290 form, Still got rejected in 3 months then again my attorney re-appealed to it by adding some more information to it. So now the status is showing as Initial review with AAO.

I don't mean to hijack the thread and my PD is 2010 anyway but I have a question also.
We know that we need to get all this vaccination thing done during 485 stage and a civil surgeon does that. But do we need to get all this done/verified at our regular physician before we go to the civil surgeon?
All of us have these polio, measles thing done but we don't have a record to show. So does the doc give us new/follow up shots to fulfill the criteria...and we take that to the civil surgeon.
looks like the civil surgeon is just a stamping authority, the real deal has to be done by our doc. Please let me know.
The civil surgeon does everything but you need to pay cash for it. If you have the documentation from your primary care physician, you could ask for a discount, which is what I did. Your insurance pays if you get it done from your PCP.

All I can say is for J1 physician is different then regular J1 visa. If you are J1 physician you have to serve 3 years in an underserved area on H1b visa and then and then you can get your GC. If you file NIW for physician you can apply for I-140 and I-485 but you will get GC after 5 yrs of service in an underserved area.

For most countries you can get your passport renewed by the embassy or consulate in US itself and quite quickly. For e.g in case of Indian embassy you get your new passport within a couple of weeks.
So find out first if your husband's country lets them renew the passport within US and if yes then apply for it asap.
